Default Upgrading the ballast? But from who?

Looking to switch the sacs out in the back of a Mondo and was wondering if there is a set of bags that will fit in the back lockers that are made specifically for the Mondo yet or will any old 750 bag do. And does anyone know what size the bag in the center is on the Mondo?. I know the 1300 pound ballast is standard but I don't know how the weight is broke up between the 3 bags. Thanks in advance

Update: Looks like Wakemakers has what I need but can I get the code for the discount? And will dual 750s be fine or should I go all the way and get the 1100's? Its only got the 330 motor.

    Check your PM.

What are the dimensions of the v-drive lockers? Would go 1100 if the dimensions are close. You can always underfill a 1100 but can't fill past 750 in a 750.

Would even suggest the 900 sumo sac if the dimensions are closer.

If you go above 750 in the smaller boat, you may need some nose weight in the mondo, otherwise it's a steep short wave.

^this. I ran 1100's in the launch20 and without an added 800lbs up front, the wave was horrible to surf.

just beginning to wake surf. I have been told you cant really surf with the stock ballast. If i get the 750s . Should that be plenty enough to get me started and then when winter hits start some projects for more bags?

The 750s would be a great start and you may also want to consider getting an IBS which can be pretty easily hooked into your current configuration without too much work. A couple of really good posts on this site give great direction (including pics) on how to accomplish that.

If the budget won't allow both right now, the 750s would be the first priority.

Yes but $149 vs $189 ea (750 vs 1100). For the extra $80 why not just go big now and don't look back? If they would fit that is.

If you are planning to upgrade at some point you won't be able to resell the 750's for what you bought them for. And with a group buy/discount going on you'll be saving yourself more coin upfront already with the 1100's.

So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Can someone with the Mondo help out JW -- does the 1100 fit in the locker?

If it does then its a no-brainer and I agree with Berg...........even if you don't fill it up all the way right now, you will at some point!!
