Default Anyone near Hillsboro TX, lake whiteny?

I called a surveyor today to checkout a boat and he mentioned that water testing couldn't be done due to the drought and water levels, however when I checked around it sounds like the water is at it's normal pool level?!?...

There should be a few open ramps. I went there last year for Labor Day and the water level hasn't dropped too much since then. Says the ramp at the marina below is still open.

Whitney is very low. I would be surprised if any of the ramps are open. It shows 12 ft below full pool.

Whitney is fed by the Brazos river. To get to Whitney, the Brazos forms 2 damed lakes along the way. Possum Kingdom and Lake Grandbury. Right now the Brazos is running at the minimum flow just to keep things alive. That whole part of central Texas is hurting for rain. With Whitney being 3rd in line to get water, the 2 lakes up stream have to improve first. We need the El Niņo!!!

PK was close to full in 2010, but now it's about 15' low.

    Grandbury is about 9' low

    Then here is Whitney

Man, looking back at those charts, we need that March of '12 again. One good rain event can fix a lot.

They keep saying a strong El Niņo is forming. We'll see what happens.
