What is installed on my new Mondo
Hi all,
Ok, I know I could ask the dealer, but here's my question:
I bought a new 2014 mondo at the Montreal boat show. Boat will be ready in June. I think it comes with a Sony stereo with 4 kicker speakers (I did not choose any stereo upgrade).
I'm shopping for amp and sub I could install myself. I'm not sure about tower speaker. I'm 6'3" and afraid of knocking my head. So I was thinking of starting my upgrade project with amp and sub.
I need to know what is the model and power of the stereo and speakers??
Anyone knows?
Thanks and have a super weekendSampp

The Kicker speakers are the KM6130 marine speaker. I would not hesitate to drive them with up to 100W rms each, but thats awfully strong for an inboat. I would look for a Class-D amp thats going to deliver 50W to 75W to each speaker, like the Kicker KXM400.4. This amp will allow you to add a 3rd pair of in-boats.
If you dont want to add that 3rd pair, then you could go with the KMX400.2 and get that 100W rms to each.
The Kicker KXM800.5 is a 5 chnl Class-D marine amp that will drive 4-6 in-boats and has an available 400W rms to a nice 12" 2 ohm sub.
Or go with a 2nd KXM400.2 bridged to a 4 ohm sub for 400W rms.
These amps are small, super efficient and a well built true marine amp that will deliver the advertised power.
The Comp S or D series subs would be a good match for those amps.
