That's funny, I saw a homemade tower on a old runabout this summer that looked just like they mounted a old swing set to the boat

I think you are all glossing over what's important here...That's like an 8-10ft tower! I will be first in line to get behind it, but, I refuse to be in the boat when they're pulling someone!
