I don't think positioning makes a difference, but someone else might have experienced something different.

acme 1235 here, lets the motor rev up a little higher when running full ballast so its not lugging.

My boat came with the OJ 14.25x14.5 4-blade prop. It performs OK, but I think the ACME 1235 would be a lot better. My neighbor has a 21.5' Malibu VLX with the ACME 1235. He runs 1100's in the rear and about a 1000 up front. His hole shot is a whole lot better than mine.
