Default bilge pump not mounted to anything

I'm just learning my way around the '07 LSV. While winterizing, I vacuum up every bit of water in the bilge. I noticed that my bilge pump isn't mounted to the hull in any way. On my previous boat there was a screw that went into a metal plate that there for some other purpose (skeg maybe?). It seems weird that the pump would just sit there not attached to anything. Is this normal or should it be attached somehow?

I'm stealing a photo from cab13367 as it looks the same:

Does yours have some kind of mounting cup that is epoxied in and then the pump can be easily installed/removed/serviced? Mine just has the pump. If I glued it down, I would have no way to service it.

you should have base that is stuck to the hull and then the pump would clip to the base, unclip to clean or service

My boat is glued to the bottom of the bilge pump housing. I can easily remove my boat for servicing if needed.

WOW!!! You must have a pretty big bilge, if your boat is glued to the bottom of it. LOL!

On this topic, I had to remove a screen and clean it on the Bilge because my bilge would stay on all the time.

I never had to do that on my LSV so im not sure what year or when they added a screen.

Mine was odly enough, filled with fiberglass, dirt, and carpet fibers. I figured it would be hair from the Oso and Claudia, thats what i find in the bath tube drain all the time LOL

Shouldn't it be back near the transom? That is were the water goes when you are moving.
