There is only one ram or cylinder from the hull to the plate.

Confirmed it wasn't moving.
Being electric, I have no idea why it moved while the boat was listed, yet did not move as soon as bags were emptied.
I don't mind buying a new cylinder and just replacing it, but I really would like to know what the root cause is.Current: 2010 LSV

Could be loose wires on the switch. I would start there then test voltage at the switch and the actuator.

Boat's back at storage, I didn't get a chance yet to dive into it.
I'll check the wiring, but I'm still confused as to why the listing seemed to correct the problem. I can't imagine it's just coincidence, because the plate was used quite a bit throughout the day and worked flawlessly while listing, but as soon as everything was level again it didn't work. Still made noise when lever was moved "down" (although the plate was already down), yet made no noise at all when lever was moved up.Current: 2010 LSV

I seem to remember somebody having an issue with the switch on the steering wheel. Contact issue maybe? Sorry I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was definitely the switch, not the actuator.

You can cut the problem in half to isolate. Find the connector by tracing the wire back from the actuator. Should be 2 wires black/white, you can take the wires directly to a battery and it should move the actuator. Reverse the polarity and it should go the other way.
