Still not sure. I might try an LSV test drive this weekend.

Should I save a couple thousand dollars and order a new LSV?

    The facts for the LSV:
    Same boat weight.
    Same number of passengers.
    1 foot longer.
    More Ballast.
    2 inches narrower.
    Old hull.

Still plan to ski, wakeboard, and surf.

Any thoughts from you guys with Mojo's, since they are similar to the Mondo, and newer LSV's would be great.

    Joe, check those stats again.

The Lsv is wider, heavier , bigger gas tank and 3 more passengers

Well I drove a Mondo last week, and I drove an LSV today. All I can say is that the LSV IS A GREAT BOAT. The ski wake was just slightly larger than my OBV wake, so that was good. I didn't try wakeboarding since I knew it would be great anyways. And the surf wave was good with just the stock ballast.

Cockpit layouts between the LSV and Mondo were almost identical. I need to measure the Mondo to see the differences, if any, since I believe the one foot difference is all in the bow. I measured the LSV, and the only disappointment was that the LSV cockpit seating is only about 3" longer than my OBV. So as with the Mondo, the LSV extra length is mostly in the bow compared to the OBV.

As I said earlier, the ski wake was pretty good. We skied at 32mph and wakeplate full down. There was myself, two other adults, and one kid in the boat.

We surfed Goofy at 10.8 mph and wakeplate full up. We had one adult and kid up in the bow, and myself and another adult on the starboard side. We also had the center tank and rear starboard ballast full. Pretty good wave with only 1150 pounds (500 center, 650 rear) of ballast and a few adults. Just as others have stated, an IBS and some more rear ballast should make a great wave.

I know that the Mondo is going to be a great wakeboard and surf boat, but I just don't like the ski wake. Hopefully I can get another Mondo ride in to double check, but as of now, I think that the LSV is the better way to go for my family and I.

Don't have much comparison of the Mondo vs. LSV, but some for the Mondo vs. OBV:

I was surprised at the boat show about how much bigger the Mondo appeared inside than the Outback V, which are basically the same length boat. White Lake Marine had them parked side by side and the Mondo cockpit looked to be about a foot longer than the OBV. Some of it may be from the bow area, but the sunpad looked about 8-12" smaller on the Mondo, so it appears that the engine packaging has been made more efficient (maybe due to the additional depth) so most of the increase in cockpit area came from that.

Thoughts on the Mondo vs. LSV:
One thought is that you mentioned the slalom wake has some importance. Aside from hull design, boat weight seems to be the next biggest factor in slalom wake. So I checked the boat weights, and was confused. The Mondo and the LSV lists at 3800# if you pic on the link to the boat specs. If you go to the compare boat page, the Mondo lists at 3000#. Not certain which one is right, but I assume the 3800# is correct, so in that case there is no advantage.

    Not much help, am I!

Well, it's boat show time, and that means it's time to order the new boat. I decided to go with the LSV. My wife and I went over the colors tonight, and this is what we came up with.

I found these pics on the internet of what the interior will be. The only difference is that the deck color will be platinum, not charcoal as shown.
