    Default Mondo or LSV

As you guys know, I am planning on ordering a new Mondo this winter. I have been doing some thinking, and here is my question.

Should I save a couple thousand dollars and order a new LSV?

    The facts for the LSV:
    Same boat weight.
    Same number of passengers.
    1 foot longer.
    More Ballast.
    2 inches narrower.
    Old hull.

Still plan to ski, wakeboard, and surf.

Any thoughts from you guys with Mojo's, since they are similar to the Mondo, and newer LSV's would be great.

I can't speak for the Mondo surf compared to the LSV.

Having owned an LSV and a Mojo its a stiff argument on which i would really by if i had the option again.

LSV pro, solid wake boat, great surf wave, excellent body lines, and i love the V front end.

Down side, not as wide, in the cabin, smaller in the bow, not as much storage.

Mojo plus, solid steep wake board wave, solid surf wave on Reg, decent on goofy but both require tons of weight literally.
Boat is HUGE, in all categories.
Only real downside is i think its a lot harder to trailer then the LSV was.

Ok with your original posting of Mondo,

If your really comparing the 2, i would go LSV everyday, its got a better nose, Mondo nose really is tiny, it looks big because its wide but its short. LSV has a great surf wave without a lot of work. Can be down with almost all factory set up with only a bag change for the rear.

LSV i think will be a solid value holder for resale also with its reputation.

Like i said though im not trying to discount the Mondo, i just haven't spent any time in it and i have spent a lot of time in the LSV lol

With boats always buy the larger model if you can afford it and have storage for it, the 21.5 market is huge for the resale.

    You aren't considering a Mojo?

No, because the Mondo alone is at the top of my price range.

Fair enough! I haven't been behind the Mondo, so I can't refer to it. Just based on my experience with an LSV, I can't imagine not choosing the bigger LSV if it's less expensive comparably equipped. However, the Mondo is the cool new boat, but is it better than the LSV? I'd definitely have to ride behind a Mondo before I bought one above a new LSV.

Have you had a chance to ride behind the Mondo, or will you get to? Have you ridden behind a LSV?

I'm with mike. always buy the biggest boat you can fit if you plan on surfing.

there is some truth to the size and resale as well. my launch20 was a tough sell at 20'8, but it was also an older model that was disco'ed the summer I sold it. Mondo will be around for a while.

I really like the look of the Mondo and think it will be a home run for SC. That said, and until I get to see one in person and demo, it would be really hard for me to pick a smaller, more expensive boat with a yet-to-be-proven wake over the LSV that has been a home run for 8 years and counting.

Price wise .... OBV, Mondo, LSV, Mojo ?
Yes, you are correct. I was looking at 2013 LSV pricing. The price has gone up for 2014.

Jstenger, I read your review in the surf the mondo thread. Sounds like maybe the LSV might be leading the pack now?

Still not sure. I might try an LSV test drive this weekend.
