Ballast Pump Problem
2009 LSV Gravity 3 system
My starboard ballast pump has stopped working.
The pump is getting power when I cycle the switch fill or drain (put my hand on the pump and I can feel a slight humming for a while and then the pump shuts down).
This pump has been used most often since we mostly surf this side.
Anyone have any idea why this pump has stopped working?
Thanks in advance

Found a previous thread and it sounds like the impeller is the place to start trouble shooting?
Do you have to remove the pump to access the impeller?

What type of pump is it, impeller or aerator? An aerator pump will have a slight hum while running, but should run until the battery goes dead. Something in the pickup or a poorly oriented outlet can stop one from moving water. An impeller pump will have more then a slight hum when pumping. Shutting down sounds like its bound up and shutting off due to its run-dry protection.

Impeller
Just watched the video on how to change the impeller on the Wakemakers website.
I'll start with that.
It's been 4 seasons so prob time to replace all three

Pull the impeller and it it looks to be in good shape, turn the pump on with no impeller and just see if the motor itself spins. Go both directions if its setup as a reversible ballast system.

Pulled the impeller, replaced and works like new.
Wondering do most pull the impellers when they winterize?
I have always pulled my engine one, but never the ballast ones.
Got 4 seasons without pulling them and it was about $100 for all three, so not a big hit.
Anyone pull them and get a longer life?
Cheers
BTW...only get 45-50 hours a season
