Default Is This Bad? Fiberglass Cracking?

I brought my boat home to clean, and i wanted to make sure the paddle wheel was in good shape cause my perfect pass hasnt quite been holding speed like it should. It looked clean of debris and spun freely, but i couldnt help but notice this:

it starts from a little more than half way on the bottom (say from where the cooler is to like the ski pylon) and its deep enough to put my fingernail in, like a heavy keying of a car. Is this normal wear and tear, or does this need to be addressed quickly because it will get alot worse?

    Where It Starts:

    Middle:

End: A tic tac size spot where i can see the fiberglass chipped away.

If you have a dremel, you tube and some gel coat, you could do it for about $40.

Watch youtube for gelcoat repairs. You will need to "open" that crack slightly with a dremel tool, then fill it with gelcoat repair kit, sand and buff.

Check you yellow pages for a fiberglass shop. They should charge @ $200 for that.
