    Default Rope/handle

Looking to get some input on what handles and ropes everyone is using? I just have a generic handle and rope right now and the handle is really tough, no padding and after awhile starts to hurt the old hands. I searched the forum and found a thread but it was about 3 years old so just wanted to get updated thoughts from everyone. I dont have a store within 2 1/2-3 hrs from me so I dont want to just buy one of the internet and hope they work. So I guess what Im looking for is a handle with lots more padding/comfort and a "none" stretch rope I hear is all the rave, mine now is stretch. Dont want to go crazy expensive but also dont really know what im looking for, maybe $100-$150, that high or low for a decent set? Also do they make a all in one rope, by that I mean wakeboarding and ski, or is it all preference?

    Thanks for the input!

Are you looking for a wakeboard specific handle? The end of the season sales are fast approaching. Your best bet is to find a non stretch mainline and pair it with a wakeboard handle you like. You would want to use a separate line and probably handle as well for slalom skiing.

There are decent setups by Accurate like the ones linked below. I have found them on ebay for under $60 in the off season. They look like this:

You can find decent handles from Straight Line if you search on the internet. They look like this:

Just about any of them will be an improvement over a generic all purpose handle. Good luck! If you find something you think you might like just post a pic and ask for opinions.

I have this one but they stopped making them, you can find them on amazon and ebay often...You should be able to find something close to it..

It's thicker, softer and cushier, easy on the hands...

There's no decent all in one rope, wakeboarding needs non or no stretch, skiing/tubing needs stretch..

I have this one, has multiple lengths...

Well, that's true but that's also the last place I'd buy one from. I have never seen anything from that seller I could not find a better deal on somewhere else. Don't understand why anyone buys from them.

Bart's? Cheaper maybe, better website yes, customer service hell no! They rock..

Bought a new board from them on vacation last year, had it shipped there and it arrived with a chip in the edge. Called them up they overnighted a new board and let me use the chipped one until the new board got there... You get what you pay for.

They've also called several times to recommended a better product than the one I've ordered online..

Well, some people are more high maintenance and like to pay extra for service. I usually do a lot of research and know what I want so it comes down more to price. To each his own. Glad to hear you get something extra for the extra money from them though.

I use and love proline. My only gripe is that after a year or so, the plactic coatings start to allow water into the rope/handle and the setup loses bouyancy.

Its a pain with my kids because we drag the line over them to pick them up after a fall. When it sinks, they really have to look for it hard or they miss it.
