Google Earth
Have you seen this link. You can put in the zip code of your lake or house and get a satellite view that you can zoom in or out on. You have to download the program but it works great. Have fun.

No need to install software.
The google maps site has the same data for free.
http://maps.google.com
Click the "satellite" button in the upper right corner. Or "Hybrid" to overlay street names like google earth.
Here is another site with different data if google's does not have a high res scan of your area:
