    Default Stainless vs Galvanized

I need to replace the bolts on the bunks, because I'm raising the bunks 1/2".

Has anyone ever tried galvanized lag bolts? Stainless are way more expensive. Just looking for some feedback before buying either.

Actually a better question is what should the price of stainless bolts run? Home Depot up here is charging $2.00 a bolt.

Galvanized will last as long as the wood you screw it in to. Stainless would be better served on a trailer that sees salt water regularly.

Thanks, that's what my friend google says too. I made some calls and I found stainless for .75 a bolt. Now it's a no brainer. Going with stainless. No exposure to salt water but the old bolts were stainless.
