He's probably working on his wakeboarding while the rest of us sit in the glow of LCD screens. At least that's what it looks like from pics I've seen.

So I will ask, how the hell do you get to the back of the engine on a vdrive? It seems that only a small monkey could get down there and replace the impeller on a 2003 LSV.

On the '06 up the side panels swing down. Very easy to reach just about everything, especially when the exhaust manifolds are cool. When they are not-- not so much.

If folks have ideas on the 03 I would appreciate it. It seems impossible

Just did mine, removed the side panel, blower, and then the pump....Sounds like a lot but really only 4 bolts and 2 hoses..

Okay, I am confused about the petroleum products warning. When I winterize my boat and remove the impeller, I cost in it petroleum jelly and store in a Ziploc bag. This warning (and the posts above) warn against that. I was curious where I got my info, and here it is...

Indmar Owner's Manual; Page 7-3; "3. Remove the raw water pump impeller... Lubricate the impeller with Vaseline and seal in an airtight bag."

    WTF?!?!

The 2012 indmar manual states the same, and ive been doing this for three years now with the same impeller that has over 300 hours on it and it still looks good .

    So why not use it.
Or people aren't lubricating it there drowning it

(Lubricate the impeller with Vaseline and seal in an airtight bag.")
