    Default screw lengths?

just a quick question...when i mount my amp racks i want to make sure i dont go to far with the screws and go through something like the hull haha..i also want to mount the promariner prosport 20 on a inside wall(the other side is the walkway to the bow)..so what would be the max length for screws..and can i even mount the prosport on that inside wall?

    Default screw lengths?

Really thin! You need to pull the carpet back and either use epoxy or fiberglass to attach wood that you could screw into once you reinstall the carpet.

there are a ton of suggestions/how to's on this that expand on what Jake said. You DON'T want to mount to the hull and the best way that I've seen is to glue blocks to the hull then a mounting board to the blocks. Attach the charger and amps to the board. That way, you know for certain what you're screwing into/thickness/etc. I think a lot of guys have bought a cheap plastic cutting board from WalMart.

    why risk it?

Find an old pressure treated 2x4 and cut the blocks, use some marine adhesive and buy the $13 cutting board.

You'll spend less than $25 to do it right vs 10x that amount if you end up putting screws thru the hull and having to get that fixed.

    Default screw lengths?

I would look into using hdpe blocks instead of wood. Plastic won't rot

I think you should screw through the hull and use through bolts with thread locker. No one else is doing it and you will be unique.

    Use stainless screws.
