Pretty easy installation. Tap off the reverse light wire for the camera and viewer but I couldn't find the reverse wire inside the cab for the viewer so I ran the wire from the tail light along with the camera cable. If you get that particular viewer, I recommend taking the back off and silicone the beeper to muffle it. Every time you put it in reverse it turns on the viewer and beeps which is annoying so I took care of that. Both units come from China so don't depend on the two lines of instructions...lol.
Also, the camera where I have it located can pick up the ball on a standard receiver but when I use a drop down for the boat trailer you can see the top part of the receiver but not the ball itself. that is why having a camera up high would be an advantage.Last edited by zabooda; 05-01-2013 at 02:05 PM.

I had to install a back-up camera on my dmax because it didn't come with one, but i wired my camera into my edge cts programmer, works flawless. If you have that option or already have a programmer with a video input, try that route. No need to re-program my in-dash Nav to accept the video input from the camera or take apart my rear-view mirror. Simple as a plug and play for those with programmers already. I use EFI Live for tunes so the CTS is just to monitor EGTs mainly but other gauges as well and it came in handy with the back-up camera.

I was completely sold on the idea when Daze posted this pic a while back from his new ride thread.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

I have wireless cameras and double din displays in both my ol Ford ('01 SD) and my even older Burb ('90)
Kind of like an automatic garage door opener, once you have one, you cant imagine NOT having one!
Plus I love the way people look when I can put the ball under the tongue every time. I did find painting the end of my trailer tongue orange really helps.Sent by the random thoughts from the voices in my head...
Eric.
