    I remove the impeller every season using a pair of locking needle nose vise grips as shown. Works great.



    Grip the impeller as shown. Apply gentle pressure, just enough to lock the vise grips.

    Thank you Al, the needle nose worked It was not easy because the previous owner didn't ever change it. I sprayed it with WD-40, bump the motor and let sit over night. The next day bumped the motor again and used the needle nose. It took about 30 mins to work it out but it finally came and the new one is in. I was shocked that it still looked new after 143 hrs on it. Thanks everyone for your help....

    On my lsv I would remove the support arm on the impeller pump and that allowed the pump to spin freely and grip the impeller with pliers. The rocking action sure helped free it up.

    One other option. Harbor Freight sells some standard pullers (3 and 4 fork) in a package that works awesome. Around $25 bucks if I remember correctly in a 3 pack (small, med, large). Works awesome.
