Installation of light bar

Has anyone installed an after market ligtbar to their tower. I am looking for some insight as to how to do this, specifically as to how to power it. Should I just hook it directly to the battery or is their a better way I can/should wire. Any help at all would be appreciated since I am very mechancally impaired.

I have installed a few light bars. How I did it is run it down your tower leg that the navigation light up top is on (drivers side). I then ran the power to a relay and grounded the other. From the relay I went to an accessory switch on your dash. Hope that helps.
