Carb vs MPI may make a difference. I run about 8-10 hrs+ a tank (40 gal) with MPI.
I'm not measuring this with a micrometer. I run full of folks all the time and tow 95%.

Absolutely better gas mileage with the EFI engines (325hp +) like stated earlier I get like 10 hours out of my 42 gallon tank while towing with GIII ballast filled.
