We remove the thermostat, take off the intake house, rig up a 5 gal bucket on top of the engine cover with a hose. Load up bucket with antifreeze, turn on boat, stick the hose from the bucket into the intake and let 10 gallons or so push through it. We forgot to drain the block first, but the antifreeze should have ran through it with all the antifreeze we put through it. Taking the thermostat out takes out the guessing work IMO, but I know plenty of people just get the boat to running temp.

Draining the block and the manifolds is the only sure way to know you have the water out of the engine and manifolds. You could then suck up the antifreeze thru the vdrive and that would get everything including the impeller.

There are two empty antifreeze containers on the ground at the 0:23 mark. Why I couldn't find any other empty containers that held a certain beverage is unknown.

If you drain the water, why do you need the antifreeze?

Just extra protection. If you have a heater or shower you need to do more than just drain it...
