Delay between turning key and starter engaging
My 99 Outback with a 310hp PCM 5.7 has a delay when trying to start it. Especially when cold there is a delay of 5-20 seconds. I turn the key to start, Hold it and sometimes it does nothing and other times it turns over after about 5-20 seconds. The motor fires right up. I have a new battery and a new ignition switch. Sometimes it starts normal if the engine is already warmed up. I had a starter guy check out the starter and it seemed to be fine.
Has any one else had this problem?
Thank you in advance.
