Depth finder

i have a depth finder on my Outback and it doesnt work..im guessing no power to it since nothing comes on when the boats running..anyone know how this thing works?..i have a potential buyer coming to look at the boat and i want to see this thing turn on before he sees it sunday

Some depth finders are not wired to the running of the boat but an ACC switch. Also if you are not getting power you might want to track the wires to the power block and see if a fuse is blown. What type of depth finder is it?

its the one that came on the outback its inbetween the throttle and center console..little white one with two small buttons on it

soo all the wires were cut but one..i reconnected the wires..blue to blue.... but theres a red wire that is just hanging..im wondering if i hook that to a acc. button or not

Run a jumper cable from the + to the red wire and see what it does or go online and check the manual. You're only talking of $100-$150 so you can offer the person a break on the price.
