    Default Over Engine Tray

Has anyone added an over engine warming/storage tray? I don't think its a Moomba option and I can't find aftermarket ones anywhere.

    Default Over Engine Tray

As in keep my hot dog buns and baked beans warm until lunch??? Sounds like a Maxwell Smart contraption....is that really something someone uses?? Seriously though, what does one use it for?

It's a Malibu option. Jacket warmer, towel warmer, rope drier, ect

We contemplated putting a cargo net pocket in there. There isn't any clearance over the main part of the engine in my '07 LSV. The is some room available all the way back towards the transom but this is right over the belts and pulleys and I decided that it wasn't worth the risk of something dangling too low or falling into the moving parts. I hadn't really thought about a solid tray with a closed door - that might be an option.

Its a solid plastic tray that covers the engine compartment. Its only about 3 inches deep just enough for ropes, flag, etc. Tige has it as well. I wouldn't do a cargo net.

I agree with you mikenehrkorn. Don't want anything that could possibly be flying around my engine.

Nothing is flying around your engine. It covers the whole engine compartment and when the hatch is down there is no way for anything to fly out or even move since it sits right over the tray. No one has seen these before???? seems like every boat I see out there has these now.

I'm imagining a tray like old coolers used to have that would hang from the partition rails... intriguing.
