ever since i took my fins off i loved the loose feeling..it seems like i can do more without worrying about catching on a fin and destroying myself

Take em' off. IMO if you feel comfortable riding and edging around in your normal stance the center fins are "doing their job" by making it more difficult to free the board up. The LF Trip has very good molded side fins which should provide enough traction. You can always put them back on if your not ready to go without them.
As for "The Book" series and learnwake.com, they are IMO the absolute best resources for teaching and learning to wakeboard. From learning to get up on a boom to doing the most advanced tricks these 2 resources provide the most bang for the buck.Todd
