Default Tower feet pads - permanent solution?

I swapped out the black rubber tower feet pads for the new clear versions. After just a couple of months they have slid out as bad as the black ones. Has anyone fixed this permanently? I see a lot of newer boats without the pads but that seems like you're just asking for stress cracks in the gel coat.

Once I switched to the clears, I haven't had a problem. I'm wondering though if simply using 3M 4000 or 4200 between the tower foot and the pad (not between the pad and the gelcoat) would work?

that's a good idea. I'd guess any silicone adhesive would work as I can't imgaine much water would get under them if they are tight to the hull.
