Default Idle fine - stall and die when put in gear - 2001 moomba

I have a 2001 Moomba Outback and over this past weekend, every time I put the boat in gear, it would
stall and die. It would idle fine. Is this an electrical issue? I have already replaced the solenoid and
problem still existed...Any insight? Any help is much appreciated!!!

Are you sure nothing is jamming up your prop?

Yes - It would turn off after about a 30 second idle. I changed the solenoid and it idles fine - now just dies after gear is engaged...prop is clear...

What is the RPM at idle. Did you treat your gas prior to winter storage?

Did not document RPM at idle but as owner, I know the sounds of the boat and the boat sounds great. It just acts as if
something is shutting the engine off when I engage it in gear...like a kill switch almost...yes I treated gas...

Next question, can you rev the engine when you push in the transmission lockout?

Well without being able to tinker with it hands on it sounds like the electrical is okay but it wouldn't hurt to pull the spark plugs and inspect them. It sounds like a fuel supply issue. Could be clogged filter, jets, carb needs rebuilt, maybe even vaccum leaks.. linkage issues, maybe a bad accelerator pump...

A whacked distributor can do this too but I'd start with checking the plugs and fuel system

Yup, definitely sounds like insufficient fuel suppy or incorrect mixture.
