    Default 2003 LSV Engine temp and Fuel gauge not working...any ideas?

    Hey guys, checked the gauges and noticed they are have a common wire which I assume is the ground. Any have this issue? Any ideas on a fix? Thanks.

    If you have a common wire to both it has to be ground.

    If they dont work and you want to know if there working then you need a Volt meter to check the incomming voltage and Ohm to ground to make sure they are working.

    Ok now that i got the correct way out of the way lets talk real mans troubleshooting.
    Make sure the common wire is connected to a known ground.
    Run a jump wire from your batter to the only wire in the guage, it should read at that point. If not guage is bad
    If you dont want to run a jump wire you can use a 9V battery and connect the positive line and ned line to it and see if the guage is working.
    This only tells you the guage is working or not.

    If its working with testing but not working in the boat then you need to check the souce voltage with a meter to see if its supplying you a voltage.
    With 2 guages both acting up im leaning towards a bad ground
