Default 750's or 1100's for the rear locker?

We have our 2010 LSV with the GIII system in it. I am pretty sure we are running 400's in the back lockers currently. I have been reading on the boards and seems like people are either upgrading to 750's or 1100's.

Looking at the WakeMaker website, there is a $40 difference in the price of the 750 vs. 1100. So, cost isn't really a factor there -- other than I see little value in buying 750's for this summer only to upgrade to 1100's next summer.

I am just planning on upgrading the sacks in the rear lockers (have to do both because the whole family surfs on one side, and I surf on the other).

95% of the time we have 3-4 people in the boat. That doesn't give us a lot of weight to shift around to the surf side. My preference would not be to buy extra bags and move them around (stack in seats, on the rear locker, etc).

I ski, the son and daughter wakeboard, everyone surfs (or at least tries to).

Just looking for some input on this.

Youre going to hear arguments for both. The 750 in combination with a 370 tube sac under the port seats makes a fantastic regular side wave. Some same the 1,100 make for too steep of a wave, but nothing says you have to fill it all the way up.

It sounds to me like you have already talked your way into a decision for the 1100's.
Fwiw, I made the mistake of going for the 750's in my lsv, only to turn around the following season and buy the 1100's. I fill the 1100 full for surfing with 400 in the ski locker and 650 in the bow, sometimes I add some weight to the opposite locker 1100, depending on people numbers.

As Wolfe says, you don't have to fill the 1100 all the way up...

1100. You can always underfill but can't make the 750 bigger than it is.

Mmandley is running a 900lb straight line bag from Wakemakers that seems to work fairly well. I think it is a few $$$s less.

Thanks for the input today. I am really leaning towards the 1100's, just wanted to see if there was any feedback that might sway me the other direction.

I would say go for the 1100's, and by my experience, just ordered an 1100 for my port side locker to replace the 750 i put in last year. As many have said around here you can fill the 1100 up to what you want but you can only get 750 out of the 750.

In addition we have found that with somebody sitting on the port locker door(he weighed 210lbs) our wave gets a ton more push. Now I can take that 750 to the bow and get some more length in the pocket.

So our new setup will be a 1100 in port locker, 750 in starboard locker, 400 tube under port seats with cooler cut out, 1180 in ski locker, and the 750 to move around but probably under port seat in playpen. Our new 1100 will be here Thursday, camping this weekend on the water with new surfboard and the new ballast setup should be sick!

Like I said a couple of days ago. I now fully regret going for the 750's after surfing this weekend with the 1100 in port v-locker.

Videos of wave to show difference.

This is the 750, very small pocket, and decent push.

This is the 1100, it was choppy for this video, the next day was epicly smooth but the battery in camera was dead. Longer pocket and more push than I know what to do with.

So final setup, 1100 port v-locker full, lots of gear and a large tube in starboard v-locker, 400lbs tube sack under port seats cut out cooler, 500lbs in ski locker, 200lbs port bow. Wish I had video of Sundays surfing, glass water and so clean a wave. Next weekend
