    Default Battery Drain

I had to replace the original battery last week. When I installed the new battery I noticed that there was a small spark as if a small amount of power was leaving the battery. Everything is turned off but still a small amount of energy leaving the battery. Thanks in advance for the help.

The memory on the radio (clock and channel sets)? If it has an amp, power is fed to the amp directly from the battery (on some) with a remote wire to the radio to turn the amp on and off as the radio is being turned on and off.

I, sadly, learned another interesting thing about the boat battery--If you leave the key in the "on" position, the hour meter will run until the battery dies. Takes about 30 hours!

    Carsondoc,

I did the same thing with my lawn mower. I did it the first day I bought it and it to 70+ hours to kill the battery. I am very cautios with the boat. I make sure the key is always off.
