Default Canyon Lake - Potter's Creek

I'm planning a Memorial Day weekend camping / boarding trip to Canyon Lake. Anyone ever camped at there? How was it? What are the good areas to board? Is there an area where boats congregate to have fun?

I am also a little concerned with anchoring the boat offshore or leaving on the trailer for the weekend... Any advice for keeping it safe?

Can't help with much here other than to say we stayed at Potter's Creek a few years ago and we loved it. Hopefully someone can give you some good pointers.

The lake looks really nice. Anyone know the areas to go to?

We went last year and I believe we stayed t potters creek. Be sure to book early because it fills up fast. We pulled the boat out every night and boarded to the right of the dam where the cliffs block the wind. There is a party spot but I'm not sure how to tell you where it is. Water is usually pretty rough out there.

Yeah it's looking full for Memorial Day... Looks like I need to check the other campgrounds or just make it a river trip.
