I'm going to try this out for my spring oil change and see how it goes. I assume it does not matter that it is not marine oil?

Nope. If I remember correctly, Engine Nut (aka Larry from Indmar) said this was a good oil to use. Many folks around here have used it for years.

I put it in my boat just before winterizing it this past fall. There were lots of good reviews indicating that it was a good oil to use.
