Boat Pricing
I'm currently looking at a used 04 Outback, very low hours, tower and wakeplate (some cosmetic scratches here and there). I was hoping for some opinions on what a fair price would be, NADAguides has it for 16k - 21,700.
Also, I noticed based on NADA guides, these guys take a HUGE depreciation hit in the first year, is this mainly because the lifetime warranty is NON-transferrable?
Thanks in advance

Because I bought my Outback at the boat show, I think I could actually get more for it than it cost me (wishful thinking???...maybe). I've added tower speakers, but it came w/ df, wbr, tower, mp3, bimini, ballast..
.
If you can get it for the NADA price, I'd say you got a pretty good deal. My bet is asking price is a little more than that.
.
Hope this helps

Are you thinking the high end or the low end of the NADA value? There is a pretty substantial difference for me. Thanks for the quick response!!

You can buy a new base outback for around 24K. If it's a nice boat with low hours I would think 18K would be a steal. Where else are you going to find a year old inbord for 18 to 21K. Make an offer, start low, it's alot easier to go up than down.

20-21K ... so I guess I'm saying mid to high.....maybe he's hard up for money.......alot depends on other options the boat has (if any), how much he put down, etc.
.
I can tell you this. My overall satisfaction with my Outback is good. It's a frikin chick magnet. I get kudo's everywhere I go.
.
Ultimately, what you will pay will depend on what it's worth to you, or you won't buy. Shop around for similar equipped, similar style. You will prolly end up with the Moomba.
.
Happy boating

sd2,

We have a lot in common. However, I'm not embarrassed to say one of the reasons I bought a boat was to become a part of the 'near nekked' crowd. But it's only one of the reasons.Learn all you can today. Tomorrow you may need to know it!

Skihard,
When you say it is an Outback with tower and wakeplate, that leads me to believe it may not be a base Outback. There are three models of 2004 Outback - the base Outback that has more of a skiing hull, the Outback LS has a wakeboarding hull and is a direct drive, and the Outback LSV has the same wakeboarding hull and is a V-drive. There are significant price differences between the three. The Outback LS is identical to the Mobius LS except the Mobius LS has the basic wakeboard options included in its base price whereas you add them as options to the Outback LS. Likewise, the Outback LSV is identical to the Mobius LSV except the Mobius LSV has the basic wakeboard options included in its base price whereas you add them as options to the Outback LSV.Shoe
