Default Pinewood Derby Like a Boss

Got them all tuned and aligned. Just need to add weights and we're ready to grab some trophys.

Dig it! We did those in wood shop in Middle school... except we drilled out the back end for a C02 cartridge (they were on a guide wire).

    Nice build!

    we did those too. Fun!

I've dont quite a few pinewood cars with my sons for AWANAS and RA's. Best Iv'e done was 3rd place, but we've won quite a few trophies for best looking. Lol. if they weren't all packed away somewhere still I'd throw a few pics up here tomorrow... We'll see if I remember when we unpack them, and when I get internet at home...

Nice work! I'm sure the Newty Jr.'s will dominate the lineup!

I should throw up a pic of one of the cars in our scouts pack last year. The kid's dad is a structural engineer - needless to say I don't think he let his son within 10ft of the car. Heard he had it weighted with Tungsten or something like that. It was ridiculous.

Overall it was all fun but that car was untouchable by the rest of the "bricks" out there and actually kind of took away from the fun a little.

I don't think the races in our pack are for a few more months though...?
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

You can use graphite. I got a Teflon powder (not bsa approved) but this isn't that competitive... At least for the rest of the pack.
I spent almost an hour getting them to roll straight.

Awesome job, Newty! Mine always came out looking like a brick.
