I gotta get me one of them. I have a DD outback and would like mount it to the tower or suction cup it to the motor box. I guess this could be done

The Surf HERO includes two, removable mounting options:

    1. A stick-on baseplate that takes a couple of minutes to set up and go.
    2. An FCS™ compatible plug mounting system that allows you to allen-screw your camera into the deck of your board when you install an FCS™ center fin plug into the deck of your board. Easily done by any ding repairer or shaper.

suction cup mount, tether and floaty will be a must for the summer months.
    Joe,

I think they are talking about the FCS fin system.

That would require cutting a hole on the nose of your board and putting an FCS fin box in it, plus a plug instead of a fin. And the gopro must mount to the plug. Probably a must for using in the ocean where boards get quite a beating from the waves. The adhesive mounts wouldn't stand a chance.

you can take that handle design and use kind of the same concept on the tower to have it track someone while they ride. i got some ideas for when i get home

It's such a wide angle, a tower mount wouldn't make sense. Filming something at 70' would make the field of vision huge, the camera wouldn't need to pan, and the rider would be tiny.
