Homemade Surf Rope?
Anyone ever made their own? I've seen a couple but they weren't too great. I thought it might be a fun winter project. Anyone have any good plans or know where I could get some?

I made one from an old ski rope. Cut the handle down to make a T. It was allright but not as nice or as heavy as the real one I got for Xmas last year.
My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!

I would think for safety sake it would be easier just to buy. Especially since you can pick up a nice one for less than $40.

I agree. Make your own and save the $40. Bring your $40 down here to Texas and I'll make your head spin That will get you more than a tug on your rope.

Yeah I'm interested as well Kane
Does anyone out there have any weave/braid patterns for this? My neighbor tried doing one and he had the right weave but the rope he used to do it was too thin to begin with so he ended up with a thin, painful surf rope.
