    Default Curse You Rockford Fosgate!

Anyone have one of these amps?

Trying to get this mother out of the boat. It was actually installed with only 2 screws. One on the top left hand side which is exposed and one on the bottom left hand side which is not exposed. How the heck do you access this screw? Do I have to remove the front cover plate on the amp? What a PITA (Pain in the A**)

I'm wondering if the hidden screw hole isn't slotted. have you felt around to the matching hole on the other side and see if its like a keyhole the the amp mounts on?

Thats my only guess. Short of that give her yank! It will come. The housing on those amps are well built and you will likely break the screw or pull it out, in which case the carpet will hide the mess.

I'm not an advocate of this but some times you don't have a choice.

After looking on the RF site you need to remove these allen screws to get to those mounting screws. You will have to take it off anyway to access your amp adjusments, power/ground, rca etc.

    Thanks Newty!

Haven't done that yet. In fact I was trying to avoid it as it means having to lie on my back in that tight space and undoing all of those stupid allen screws. I was planning on just cutting the wires as I really won't be needing them anymore. I have a completely new system to install including the head unit.

Now that I know I have to remove that cover, I'm sure that the screw will be underneath it. Most electronic manufacturers don't encourage you to open up their products so I was reluctant to try and remove that.

Thanks again, I realy appreciate it!

Newty is right. you have to remove those covers to get to them. I have two of the Punch amps and they are both like that. By the way, those allen head screws are not stainless, so be prepared for rust.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was cursing at it a couple nights ago.
