Positive or Negative
Hooking up the batteries in the boat. Which first positive or negative?

gotta say with both Moomba's I've had. I have only had the possitive end undune one time--added a perko battery switch. Otherwize I've never undone the battery

On any battery, the ground completes the circuit. You are "supposed" to hook up the positive first. That way is "supposed" to prevent or limit any arcing. I don't think it really matters much at all.

I always hook up the postive first. The reason is if you hook up the negative first then well hooking up the postive and you touch your screwdriver or whatever you are using to a grounding wire you can get a nice little zap. Granted a boat is not like a car in that the body of the car is a ground.
