Ballast thru hull question

Back to business here folks.

What is the best way on a pre 06 lsv or 06 to 08 OBV to put a thru hull on the passenger side( port) to match the center ballast thru hull on the driver side (starboard) . This is for the TWO bag IBS i have planned. The starboard extra hole is already in, easy to crawl in there with the drivers sea out.

Not so easy on the other side the "hole" is too tight and the free board is very low from the bow seat for good access.

I can cut the hole from the outside, no problem, how to get the thru hull connected tight is the tricky part. Any suggestion?

how far back from the passenger compartment opening is it? is this above or below the waterline?

I think the easy part would be getting the nut on and tightening the pain in the a$$ would be getting the hose on....

If you slip the fitting in, then get the nut started, can you reach up in there to get a wrench on the jam nut? Even to just hold it in place as opposed to be able to turn it. If I'm understanding you correctly...

If so, here's the trick I used. For my 1" thru-hulls they have the little prongs inside the ID portion of the fitting. I stuck the handle end of a Craftsman 1/2" breaker bar in there until it bottomed out. Allowed me to then twist the thru hull fitting itself without marring it all up on the outside. Do it as much as you can by hand, then stick a crescent wrench on the breaker bar to finish it up. That way you just need to hold the jam nut on the other side as opposed to trying to wrench it on in tight quarters.

That helpful at all or are you talking something totally different?

Yeah, reaching in for the hose and clamp would be a pain...

The hose will be fine, because i got a flow rite quick connect thru hull fitting.

Yeah, reaching in for the hose and clamp would be a pain...

yes very helpful probably going to need two arms from two different people to do this.

I read "thru hull" and interpreted it as "thru hull intake". Forget my request for pics.

no slots that i can see. i have the OEM everywhere else except this tough to get to one?

i just looked at my bass boat and the flowrite thru hulls do have notches on the base of the thruhull...(accessable from the outside) Do you not see them on the inside? so i would use the crescent wrench like berg said and just use a little hot gun glue to hold the nut in the wrench and grab and extra set up arms....

The but end of the socket will not work in the hole, you would need a real wide screw driver or something else that fits in those grooves..... not sure if this tool would work on those:
