Cleaning the Carpet

Whats the best way to clean the carpet in my boat? Can I just take it to a car wash and use the power sprayer and then let the water go out the drain and bilge? Or is that bad? My boat (2007 LS Inboard) is in desperate need of a good carpet cleaning.

If you don't get too crazy a pressure washer works wonders. I spray mine down with a pump sprayer and some oxyclean, scrub, then pressure wash and it comes out looking like new. Doesn't last though unfortunately...

You can scar the carpet if you get too close so just take it easy. And stay away from the vinyl.
