I hear soap and water is all you need.

I personally use a Bissell green machine

Powerwash them. That'll work the best!

Little Green Machine from Bissel. Cost about 75 bucks and I clean the carpet about 4-6 times a year. Can steam it in about 20 minutes and does a great job.

    Another little green user.

It's not only a boat tool either. Works great in the house as well.

I was just going to look around for some similar suggestions, since we have a new baby doing her thing staining up the carpet, and I wanted to use that as an excuse to get something to do the boat carpet too. I'll give the little green a shot, thanks guys.

I think I saw in another thread there was some hesitation about using a steam cleaner due to the rubber backing on the carpet? Have you guys seen any issues? I'd guess not if you are recommending it.

Nevermind looks like it's not a steamer, just took that from the post above.

I've had no issues at all with it and I too use it around the house as well. Does a great job on couches.

Doesn't that blow crud, sand, crumbs, whatever all over everything else in the boat?? I've read a few different people on the forums doing it, I'm just not that anxious to spend twice as long afterwards dealing with the collateral damage and mess from it.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

I agree. The little green machine works real good. Tornado got mine so I got to get another one soon. Also use Folex (I think) from Home Depot. Excellent spot remover
