Default Mooring cover no longer waterproof after 3 years

When I first purchased my cover the water would bead right off.

Now it absorbs it like a blanket!

My local boat shop had some Star Brite boat cover cleaner and waterproofing with PTEF. I haven't tried it yet because I wanted to know if anyone here has experience with this stuff.

Did I waste my money or will this really work?

**Note: PETF is Star Brite's registered trademark name for polytetraflouroethylene.

I think the stuff I used was the same. I bought it from Academy. It was kind of high but I bought 4 bottles of it. It worked great. That was a few years ago and it is still working but I do keep the boat inside. It has rained on it a time or two and it still sheds water. Hope this helps

    4 bottles?

How many do I need for my cover?

I think I went though about 3 if I recall. That did both covers
