Question wax/polish for hull after polishing compound?

obviously polishing compound always leaves the surface hazy and not a mirror shine.

any suggestions on what to use next to get the mirror shine back?
kicker is i need something i can get locally at O'reilly, advanced, auto zone etc within the next hour, i have to finish this up tonight.

    thanks!

Polishing compound is too aggressive for regular use, especially with your new boat. Get some 3m or meguiars polish (not polishing compound) to bring back the shine, then wax.

brain, i should have explained myself more.
i had a big scratch/goudge in my gel coat after my concussion accident.
i wet sanded the scratch out with 1500 grit. then used polishing compound.
scatch is gone, now i just need to get the shine back after the polishing comp.

deafgoose, i didnt see any 3m products at Advanced. they had the usual turtle, meguirs, nufinish etc.

Oh that makes more sense. I still think a polish like finesse it would be the right move before a wax/sealant top coat. Sometimes the good 3M/megs products are by the painting supplies not with the car cleaners.

If you can't find it locally, I would order it online.

Stang. Compound didnt work for my boat either. I wetsanded 3-times, then just used a cheap spray on wax a polishing pad on my buffer and she perked right up. see my pic's below. Jet
