I tore up my prop a few weeks ago and need a new one. Does anyone have any info on how I can get my hands on a used one without paying an arm and a leg. I called my dealer and they quoted $400. If anyonr has any deals i'd appreciate the help!

I have heard through the web that the ACME 3 blade is the way to go.

I wacked my OJ 4 blade last summer and relaced with Acme 3 blade. My maintenance guy and my prop guy both said I would through stones at the OJ after running the Acme. I think it did give us a couple miles per hour top end, but otherwise I was not that impressed. They did think it would give us a flatter slalom wake, but our conditions (ballast, number of skiers, frame of mind) vary enough that I am not sure I could tell.
I am going to give it a more serious evaluation this summer after having made some additional drive train adjustments (bent drive shaft hanger has been straightened).
As far as the $400 bill. Get used to it. I think you might be able to find an OJ for around 360. Check out OJ and Acme ( http://www.acmemarine.com/index.html )sites, plus Ebay. The prop shop I used is in Wisconsin near my home ( http://www.propfix.com ). You might want to look at this for comparison.
Plus I would stick with NiBrAl. Having hit something once, I am glad I did not have Stainless. The bent hanger was able to be straightened. A bent/broken shaft or damaged tranny would have been a lot worse.
As far as hole shot goes. I have skied behind a variety of inboards over the last 30 years, some with significant weight in them (but nothing like todays fully loaded WB boats). It has been my experience that Hole Shot is not a problem. We never come out full throttle on our 310HP carbuerated Mobius, even when I was 210lb on a 65 inch slalom ski with 6 people in the boat.If you believe something to be true, it will be - in it's consequences.

Same set-up here as Dave. 3 blade OJ is less than $300. Only one skier we pull has ever withstood a full-throttle start on a ski with the 3 blader. Not a chance to do so with a wakeboard. Might not be all that important to have a 4 blade.
Ditto on comments about nickel bronze aluminum. Better it caves than resists caving.

I have heard that the surface area of the 3-blade ACME is greater than the 4 blades, also they are supposed to be more accurately machined.
I think Nibral is the way to go, here in TX the lakes are pretty murky so I am worried about hitting something.
