Need a good chrome polish for trailer wheels.

The river we ride in has a portion that goes through a salt flats so there's a little bit of salt in the water. It's not brackish by any means but does a number on the chrome trailer wheels. Anybody had good luck with any specific product? One or two times out and the wheels have a good ring of rust around the outside. I can always get it off with an sos pad but I want something to protect the wheels so it doesn't pit worse than it already has.
