Indmar HP rating
Just ordered my Mobius with the 325 HP Indmar MPI. I am curious if this is gross HP provided by the motor or net HP available at the prop. Anyone have info on this??

All the provided information is from Indmar, so the numbers are from the engine
only. With the use of the flexplate and not a torque converter we loose the torque
multiplier effect. But the 1:1 tranny and shaft create a very minimal parasitic
loss. If you were to look at the torque curve of the engine ( installed in the boat)
it goes straight up from idle to around 1500-1700 rpm. This is cavitation of the prop.
Where the initial inertia of the prop slows down as it bites into the water.

Here is another suggestion if you really are interested in the information.
The engine is from Indmar. I have gone to there website and asked questions about their engines and I have gotten very quick and comprehensive answers. There is a guy there named Larry who really knows his stuff.
