2002 Moomba OutBack / SK

Please Help, looking @ getting a used Moomba OutBack / SK 2002. Is there any Huge Defects that I would steer away from that year Moomba? My Wife & 10 yr old Son Salom, my 12 yr old Son is getting into Wakeboarding? And of course Dual Tubing. Can the boat handle moderate rough water? (Weekends)? Any info would be Great!! I am running an 02 LSV and have not had any issues at just shy of 300 hours. Just check the usueal oil in the water cracks around the rudder and shaft. This was the year before the moved the factory and I have seen very little issues with this model. Try and get a copy of the maintanence records. No matter what if you buy it, unless otherwise confirmed by the seller, change the impeller before going out on your first day. A lot of people don't change these and it can ruin an engine in a matter of minutes just by a $34-$40 part. On a Direct drive it should take you about 15-30 minutes and around 45 minutes or so on a V-drive the first time. What model is the boat LS, LSV does it have a tower, options? Asking Price???.

i had a 02 outback and it was a really good boat. ski wake was great and wakeboard not to bad with some weight. decent in rough water just have to take your time.

only issue i had with my outback was gel cracks under the front bow seat cushions.

171 hours is nothing.
Do a water test, run it through its paces, if the boat appears to be in good condition and your serious about buying it have a local dealer (doesn't have to be Moomba) do an inspection. Usually under a bill and a half and piece of mind. Lots of those boats around with minimal problems.

Yeah, price seems high. I paid $20k, in 2005, for my 2001 Outback w/ less than 100 hours. Mine had ballast, tower, board racks, and tower lights. I am at 500 hours now with no real issues.

I agree, that seems a bit steep. I'm actually selling my 2002 Outback for $15,000 right now as I am moving across the country. With rad-a-cage tower and descent shape I would think you could find one for 15-16k from a private party. If it's an LS 18k would be more reasonable according to NADA. Make sure you know which one it is. I wasn't sure until I started the selling process on my boat.
