skiing Texas lakes in March
2nd Try
We are thinking of going to Texas over spring break in mid March. Does anyone have experiance with Fairfield lake in Fairfield or Martin Creek Lake in Tatum. Both have power plants on them so hopefully would be warm enough by then. Any guidance on these lakes or others that may be warm in March. We live in Kansas City and would like a chance to do some skiing and wakeboarding. Thanks

Haven t boarded at fairfield, lake looks pretty small and stumpy. Never heard of Martin Creek.
Here are a couple of links to help though
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/boat/
This one usually has water temps, may be able to email em and get some historical data
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fish/inf...eport.php?curr
actually just saw there is a lookup for old info on that page.
If I was to drive all the way down here, I would probably look at going to the Brazos river, or maybe Ray Roberts to cut down on the drive. Neither of those will be "warm" though. You can email me if you want anymore info.

Hey Noneya Thanks for the reply. Martin Creek is Northeast of Fairfield. I checked out Ray Roberts and that water is pretty cold still in March. Where are you at? What is the weather like around there in mid March? The lake temps for those two are the warmest I have found and not be to far to go. The lake temps around here in March are in the low 50's. We wont hit 70 till May if we are lucky. Let me know if you can find anything out about Martin Creek. Thanks again.
