    Default Loose shaft packing?

I have a 2008 Outback. Im about to take it to the dealer, as its still under warrenty. It seems to be taking on quite a bit of water. Im suspecting the prop shaft packing/seal. Is this an easy do it yourself job? Anyone care to explaine how to do it? Do I just need to tighten the prop shaft seal?

if I'm not mistaken 07 and up's have the dripless shaft seal. Shouldn't be taking on water there unless it is shot?

How many hours do you have on your boat? Is your alignment proper?
It is fairly simple if you are mech inclined

I have 32 hours on the boat. it may be a little off, as I do feel some vibration.

Was it ever not leaking? The alignment should be checked? Has it ever been checked?

I think I need to take it in.. its under warrenty. To my knowledge it has always taken on quite a bit of water. This is a "new" 08 that i just got 45 days ago. So even if I have a dripless seal (0 if the shaft allignment is off it could leak?

it should not leak, I would check the alignment yourself......for your peace of mind, its very simple and takes 20 mins, yes you should take it in, have you hit anything? or the seal may have been installed improperly from the get go......
