2008 Supra 22SSV, 230 hours, being replaced this week by the dealer. I was a little bummed out I did not get more hours out of it. I have been told prop shaft alignment plays a huge part in making it last. I will say Skiers Choice was good about the warranty because SeaSafe was not going to replace it (considered wear and tear item). I was able to work a deal with SC to get a fair deal for both parties.

I used graphite cord in 2005 and it is dripless and I have never had to adjust the gland nut.

Talked to the dealer today who is doing the repair, they said 400-500 hours is the typical lifespan of the seal. They are seeing seals fail early with boats that are used more for surfing than wakeboarding. Having the boat loaded on one side adds more strain to the shaft/seal. I have done a moderate amount of surfing but typically I would say its 30% surfing, 70% wakeboarding.

I had 470 hours in 2.5 years on mine before it was replaced when my drive shaft was replaced. Had no problems with it. Have 10 hours on the new one.
